Mr William Stuart Hislop

I have been a consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon for since 1994. I have practiced in all areas of the specialty, apart from primary cleft lip and palate surgery. I now work as a head and neck surgeon.


Within the west of Scotland My interests include ablative and reconstructive surgery for head and neck malignancy and trauma. I also carry out surgical dermatology for skin cancer and deal with facial trauma as well as dental implants and dento alveolar surgery. I have also experience in orthognathic and tempopro mandibular joint surgery.

I carry out around thirty reports per year for both defence and prosecution and carry out reports for injury and negligence cases.
I have published over the years and have around 25 publications in peer reviewed journals. If abstracts are included the the figure is nearer 70.


I have a medical degree from Bristol University (1987) and a Dental degree from Dundee University (1978)

My private practice is small and I am not really looking to grow this but have an interest in medicolegal work.

I have carried out over 400 microvasular cases in my career.
