About Bronac McNeill:
Bronac developed a keen interest in photography while growing up in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
As a teenager, her brother took her to the 'Magnum, In Our Time' exhibition at the Hayward Gallery in London. That's all it took for Bronac to decide that she wanted to tell stories through the lens. She left her pharmacy degree behind to take a year out on a foundation art course at the University of Ulster at Belfast. This was quickly followed by a BA(Hons) in Design & Photography from Staffordshire University. She has never looked back.
As with any good photographer, Bronac doesn't just love the camera, she is inspired by the characters she captures. With her passion for meeting new people, she's traveled extensively, with camera always in hand. Coming full circle, she eventually ended up in London as the Production Manager of Magnum Photos' London office in 1999-2001.
Since leaving Magnum, Bronac has developed her photography through constant observation. From intimate weddings and high profile corporate events, to the arts and everyday life, Bronac brings a magnifying glasss to the small details, 'the good bits' as she calls them, that we often miss.
Exhibitions:
