Island Recon Airsoft Combat

ISLAND RECON AIRSOFT was formed in early october 2007, with the intention of bringing AIRSOFT to the isle of Wight! Tired of rediculously early morning get ups and hours of travelling just to get to the nearest site on the mainland, it seemed a perfectly good idea, however it proved incredible difficult to find a location to actually host games on the island, as land owners either wanted nothing to do with it or the land didn't meet the needs of "IRAC" (island recon airsoft combat).

A month or so down the line we managed to acquire the old Arreton motor cross site, and quickly set about developing the area to suit our needs - basically lots of barricades and several small bases were built - and all was well until the land owner told us he wished to bring back motor-cross to the island.

we then restarted our quest to find a new site ,knowing from our first search that this would not be an easy task . After many hours on the phone and weeks of visiting farms and other locations on the island, by chance, while passing through Shorwell, we asked a local farmer if he knew of any landowners in the area that might be interested! - this was our first meeting with John, now our site/land owner- suffice it to say that we moved into the woods and have been expanding the site ever since - hosting our first ever large scale event in early may last year (2009), which featured in the local newspaper!!

We are also proud to be working along side our island police force as part of their Youth Reward Scheme. where Island youths that have raised the bar in one way or another are brought along for a well earned day of airsoft combat.
